We collect only what we need to run the market and to reply to you, and we don’t sell it to anyone. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are
The Manjimup Farmers Market Collective is an initiative of Manjimup Visitor Centre Inc., a not-for-profit community organisation at 151 Giblett Street, Manjimup WA 6258. This policy covers this website, manjimupfarmersmarket.com.au, and the personal information we collect through it and at the market. If you have a question about anything here, email info@manjimupwa.com or call 08 9771 1831.
What we collect, and why
When you send us an enquiry
The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, and your message. We use these to answer you, and for nothing else. Enquiries are kept for up to two years so we can follow up a conversation, then deleted.
When you apply for a stall
The stallholder application asks for more, because running a safe public market requires it. Depending on what you sell, that includes:
- your business and contact details — trading name, ABN, contact person, postal address, phone, email and any website or social media;
- what you grow, make or sell, and where;
- public and products liability insurance details and a certificate of currency;
- for food stalls, your food business registration, food safety supervisor and training certificates, and details of any potentially hazardous foods;
- electrical test-and-tag or gas compliance declarations, and a liquor licence if you offer tastings;
- vehicle and trailer registration, so we can manage access to Heritage Park on market mornings;
- an emergency contact — a name, relationship and phone number. Please make sure that person is happy for you to give us their details;
- whether you consent to photographs of your stall being used in our promotion, and your signed declaration.
We use this to assess your application, allocate stalls, meet our obligations under the Food Act 2008 (WA) and our insurance, and contact you about market days. We keep it for as long as you are a stallholder and for a reasonable period afterwards where insurance or regulatory records require it. Unsuccessful applications are deleted within twelve months.
If your stall is accepted, the Stallholders directory on this site shows only your trading name, what you sell, a short line about where you grow or make it, and a photo — never your contact details, insurance or registration information.
When you join the newsletter
We ask only for your email address. You’ll get a confirmation email first (double opt-in), and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link that works immediately. We use it to send market news, what’s in season and stallholder stories — not to sell anything on anyone else’s behalf.
Automatically, when you browse
Like most websites, this one collects some information in the background:
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read, roughly where visitors are, what device they use and how they found us — for example, whether a Facebook post brought people to the Market Days page. It tells us that a form was submitted, not what was in it. Google Analytics uses cookies and does not identify you to us by name.
- Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at characteristics of your browser to tell a person from an automated script. It replaces the “click all the traffic lights” puzzles and usually runs without you noticing.
- Server logs. Our hosting and security providers record the IP address, browser and pages requested for each visit, as all web servers do, and keep them for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
Who else sees it
We never sell or rent your information. It is seen by the Visitor Centre staff and market volunteers who need it to do their jobs, and by the services we use to run the website, each of which handles data only on our instructions:
- WP Engine hosts the website and stores form submissions (servers in Sydney, Australia).
- Cloudflare provides security, spam protection and email routing (global network).
- Google provides Analytics (United States).
- MailerLite stores the newsletter list and sends the newsletter (European Union).
- MailerSend delivers the confirmation and notification emails the website sends.
Because some of these providers are overseas, parts of your information — analytics and the newsletter list — are stored outside Australia. We choose providers with strong security and privacy commitments of their own.
We may also share stallholder details with the Shire of Manjimup or a health regulator where the law requires it — for example, a food safety inspection — and we will share information if we are legally compelled to.
Photos at the market
The market is a public event and we take photographs and video for our website, newsletter and social media. Crowd and general shots may include you. If you’d prefer not to appear, tell the person with the camera or a market volunteer and we’ll make sure of it. Stallholders choose on their application whether their stall can be featured.
Cookies
This site sets cookies for Google Analytics (to recognise a returning browser) and for Cloudflare Turnstile and MailerLite (to make the forms work). None of them are used for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though the newsletter form may need a page refresh. To opt out of Google Analytics everywhere, Google offers a browser add-on.
Keeping it safe
Everything you send this site travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Form submissions are stored in a system that only authorised Visitor Centre staff can log in to. Documents you upload with a stall application are stored under random file names and are never listed or linked anywhere on the site. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — email info@manjimupwa.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can leave the newsletter with the unsubscribe link in any email. If you think we’ve handled your information badly, tell us first and we’ll do our best to put it right; if you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
This website is for adults and stallholder businesses. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has sent us something, let us know and we’ll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If the way we handle information changes — a new tool, a new use — we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. Anything significant will also go in the newsletter.
